Milkman QnA

I want to thank everybody for getting my student film a featured animation for a couple days now. I would have never dreamed of my work getting this much appreciation before. I also can't imagine myself here without the wonderful team that helped me. They're equally important in the project becoming a success.

Seeing a lot of people are interested in the story behind the film and are catching the little hints I left throughout (mainly the imfamous frame during the death scene) I thought it was only right to have a post dedicated to answering some questions. Obvious, not all can be answered since I do plan on furthering this project. So major ones surrounding the lore will be vague still.

I am honestly curious as to how accurate Alphonse story was (given the unusual setting, stress, and how young that frame from the death scene looked), if that really was his father- I'm sure there are details there that are to be explored in the future.

Well, obvious this is a fictional world where mysticism and monsters like the father do exist. The whole "monster" motif, outside of the story line, is symbolic of how abusive he is towards his son with him forcing Alphonse to be his care taker, despite visibly not wanting to be apart of his own demise.
There's a lot more behind the father and how he views his son and as to why he treated him the way he did, but that's for future posts.

@Schwanemann Makes sense. And love that symbolic motif.

Am curious but any particular inspiration for the creatures design?

A lot of things went into the design, but the main ones are dogs with mange, parasite chick's mouths, and a creepy phto I found online of some white, dog creature with a human head that had a wide, black mouth and tiny eyes. I also, unsubconciously, based the huge mouth off the rgunt from Amnesia since I love that game.
